Malone's "Free Tea" Update

IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!!!
Malone's Fish & Steak House raised $460.01 for Le Bonheur Saturday night with their "free tea night". What a generous family the Malones are.....and the employees are great, too! And there were also some very giving people that dined at Malone's Saturday night. Thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work and generosity with this fundraising project!!

Also, there was a cannister in their restaurant for the 4 weeks leading up to the free tea night. In this one cannister, there was approximately $95.

You can do the math.....but added together, it sounds pretty successful to me!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, MALONE'S FISH & STEAK!!!

Cooper & Tripp

Cooper met two of his friends, Tripp and Jake, at Chick-Fil-A Friday. They ate lunch and played in the play area. These are 2 of his buddies from Cubbies at church. When picture taking time came, Jake was ready to go, so he isn't in the picture. But good buddies Cooper & Tripp hammed it up for the camera with their cool-dude shades!!

Wallerville Baptist Church Youth Group

WOW.....that's the best word I can think of to describe our evening tonight!
Cooper, Russell, and I, along with our dear friend and regional Le Bonheur representative Connie, went to Wallerville Baptist Church in Union County. Under the leadership of our friends Randy and Sandra, the youth group has been raising money for the last 5 weeks to help our family's team for "A Family Affair". Their group was divided into 2 teams, competing against each other to see who could collect the most money. They called their competition "Cooper's Challenge to Change a Child's Life". Tonight, we revealed the amount each team raised, and rewarded the entire group with an ice cream sundae social and the winning group with a Le Bonheur backpack filled with happies.
Randy's team raised $116, and Sandra's team raised $126......TOTAL OF $236!!! It was a very close call, but Sandra's team won the Le Bonheur happies. BUT, as a "surprise thank you" for the entire group's hard work, they were invited as "Hughes Family" guests at the Miracle Maker Blast to be held April 28th. We hope that they come and celebrate again with us!!
Thanks again, Wallerville Baptist Church Youth Group!! You guys rock!!!

Look at my new wheels!!!

No, of course not.....the Easter Bunny did NOT bring this to Cooper. But he sure had fun sitting on it and acting like he was going for a ride!! Mr. Ruben and Ms. Sue stopped by Easter Sunday afternoon to show us THEIR new toy. Retirement seems like so much fun!!

Easter Eggs

I thought that I would post these pics of Cooper dying Easter eggs, because they are the only pics we have of Easter (other than his "stash" the Easter Bunny brought and him sitting on Ruben's big motorcycle). We usually take a family Easter picture after church, but very quickly after we got home, I discovered that Russell was already in shorts and a t-shirt and Cooper was into playing with his new toys. So......no family pic this year!! Oh well, these of Cooper proudly dying his eggs will have to do. ha!

Cooper and Fozzy

Our cat, Fozzy, used to be very anti-social, but now that he is nearing 19-years old, he has decided that he likes Cooper to pet him (or he is just too old to care anymore!). I actually caught them having a sweet moment this afternoon and thought I would share. (I really think that Fozzy was enjoying a moment in the sunshine, and Cooper snuck up on him!! ha!)
Starting next week, I will post some pictures of items that will be included in the Silent Auction that will be held at the end of the fundraising campaign at the "Blast" on April 28th. Stay posted....
