Rainy Saturday afternoon at the movies

Today we enjoyed the movie "Monsters vs. Aliens". Cooper loved it, and actually sat quietly through the entire movie. Can't think of a better way to hang out on a rainy Saturday afternoon...
Do you think we could possibly have gotten a little more popcorn in that HUGE bucket?? (and no, we DID NOT eat all of it.....maybe only 1/4 of it!!)
Guess what movie is next on our list......and it comes out July 4th. I guess our next holiday movie is already planned. (if you look closely in the picture, you can see the "extra character" hanging out with the Ice Age bunch!!)

A beautiful day in our backyard...

On Monday, Cooper and I spent several hours in our backyard enjoying the beautiful weather. He enjoyed playing on the slide and swinging, blowing bubbles, and playing ball with Tucker (yes, we do still have our "firstborn" Tucker...ha!). We even got to enjoy the pretty colorful lillies I have growing in each corner of our backyard.

We planted these red daylillies last year after growing them in a galvanized tub for 2 years. I am impressed that they have survived and are doing so well!
And these are the yellow daylillies we brought to our current house 6 years ago from our very first house. They are still looking pretty good, even though they need to be divided and re-planted!!
WELCOME, SUMMERTIME!!!

Daily Journal newspaper article

This is the picture and short article that was in our local paper about the Miracle Maker Family of the Year. (You may need to click on the picture to enlarge it so that you can read the typed part.)
You can also go to this part of the Daily Journal's website to see a few more pictures from that night on the "Neighbors Section" blog.

AWANA Cubbies Awards Ceremony

Last night at our church was the awards ceremony for the AWANA Cubbies program Cooper has been attending since last September. Cooper has loved going to Cubbies where he has met some new friends, especially his little buddy Tripp. He has memorized Bible verses, colored pictures, sang songs, and enjoyed the puppet shows. At the awards ceremony, each child was given their end of the year awards and badges. Thankfully, Cooper proudly stood up with his group in front of the church and loved every minute of it. We are so proud of Cooper and his accomplishments with Cubbies this year!! Thank you Ms. Melissa, Mr. Louie, Ms. Paula and Ms. Lisa for being extra patient with Cooper!! You have made a very positive impact on our little guy!!

Miracle Maker Blast

Last Tuesday night, 4/28/09, was the Miracle Maker Blast.....the party where the 2009 Miracle Maker Family of the Year was named. The party was really a "blast"! There were alot of friends & family there, good food, a fantastic silent auction, a balloon lift-off, great music and dancing, a hula hoop contest, puppets and face-painting, and lots of visiting and new friendships blossoming. The night began with each of the 4 families letting balloons go in front of the building. Thank goodness for good weather...it was fun seeing the balloons lift off into the air! Then everyone went inside and enjoyed all of the festivities, and bid on the silent auction items to continue raising money for Le Bonheur. Our items in the silent auction raised approximately $1,000 (when I find out how much the entire auction raised, I will post that.) At the end of the night, it was revealed that the entire event raised approximately $31,000 for Le Bonheur.....and our family raised a little over $12,000 of that. Thanks so much for each of your support!!
These are a few pictures from the evening. I'll post more later.
(By the way, Cooper loves the hula hoop!!)
