NICU Open House

North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo held an open house Saturday, June 20, 2009, for viewing of the new NICU. All NICU graduates were able to put their handprint/foodprint on a tile, and these personalized tiles with their print, name, birthdate, and birth weight will decorate a wall in the new unit. Even though Cooper only spent 1-night here in Tupelo before being transferred to Le Bonheur, we are so excited about him leaving his "print" in the new unit. And you can tell by the proud look on his face after viewing his artwork that he is pretty excited, too!

HealthWorks!

About a week ago, Cooper and I went to the new children's health museum in Tupelo named "HealthWorks!". Cooper had a great time and wants to take his Daddy back to see the brain. It is probably geared for children a little older than him (elementary - middle school age), but there was still plenty there to entertain him (and me). Some pictures of our fun are below...

More pictures from our vacation

Cooper was being so patient while waiting to go down to the beach, but this picture looks like he's saying "I'm ready to go that way!!" pointing to the beach.

The walkway to the beach...

Vacation heaven!!!

My favorite beach picture of Cooper!

I guess this is one way of not letting the cold ocean water touch your feet!!
Cooper is just jogging along on the beach (he and Russell had just gone "jogging").
All of a sudden, Cooper just flopped down in the sand to make a "snow angel"....he kept saying that the sand looked like snow! ha!
We had lots of fun at The Track......go-carts, bumper boats, the train, etc. Can you tell little Cooper is excited?!?!

Cooper loved racing in the go-carts. You should have heard him yelling "go faster, Daddy!" whenever I passed them!!

Thank goodness this is the only SHARK that we saw in Orange Beach - - and it was on our way home!

A fun Sunday afternoon flying over Tupelo

This afternoon, Pop took all of us on rides in his airplane after he and Granny flew to Tupelo. Cooper and Russell went up with Pop first, and after they safely landed I went up on a tour from the sky of Tupelo. Lots of fun in that little yellow Cub....

Pop with Cooper and Russell before Cooper's first airplane flight ever...

Granny and Pop.
Granny, Pop, and Cooper in the terminal.
Cooper was still "flying" around the terminal after his ride.....he loved it!! What a fun Sunday afternoon!!

Vacation in Orange Beach

We just spent the last 4 days in Orange Beach, AL, for a much needed vacation. It was Cooper's first time ever to the beach, and he had a great time. And we enjoyed great seafood.....fried shrimp, fried oysters, shrimp & grits......yummy!! But it's still great to be back home!!

At Doc's Seafood Shack, they had this machine filled with live lobsters. It said "you catch 'em, we cook 'em!" Russell tried (it got away!) to get one for Cooper because he wanted to see him eat a "krusty krab" so bad (krusty krab is from Spongebob).

At a Wrecker Service Company outside of Meridian, they have this wrecker that they have fixed to look just like 'Mater from the movie "Cars". Cooper almost had a stroke when he saw it, so we had to stop and make pictures. The lady said that by this time next year, they might also have a Lightning McQueen car out there, too.
