100th Day at School

Today was the 100th day that Cooper's kindergarten class has been in school. They celebrated all day doing things related to "100". Each student had a project to bring today related to "100". Cooper made a poster and spelled out his name with 100 M&M's. He is so proud of his project....and so are we!!

I happened to walk into the classroom when Cooper was showing his project to the class.

Along with his poster, he also took a jar with "100" M&M's inside....just in case some fell off the poster....or if he wanted to eat some!

The class also had a project displayed outside their classroom called "When I Am 100". Each student drew a picture of how they thought they would look when they were 100....very cute!

Future Meteorologist

I have to write this one down so I won't forget it.

After school today, Cooper and I saw Russell for just a minute. This is the conversation that took place...

Cooper: "Daddy, you don't need your coat on because it's not cold outside."

Russell: "Well, I guess you haven't seen the weather! It's getting cold."

As we drove away, Cooper asked to see my iPhone.
He touches the screen and pulls up The Weather Channel app.

Then he says to me: "See, Mama, it's sunny outside! Rain is coming in one day!"" (as he shows me a picture of a sun for today's forecast...then proceeds to pull up the 10-day forecast and sees the rain pictured for tomorrow.)

Sounds like a pretty smart weatherman to me.....maybe he will be a meteorologist one day. And he works my phone better than I do somedays!

Baby Pics

Since my "baby" is now 6, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of when he was really a baby!

He really didn't have much to smile about when he was 5 weeks old since he was having a tough time at Le Bonheur, but that didn't stop the gummy smiles from happening!

But no smiles if he was sleeping peacefully and wanted to be left alone (go away, paparazzi!).

HealthWorks! Birthday Party - #6

We had Cooper's birthday party with family and friends at HealthWorks!. Cooper and his friends played in the interactive museum area, watched "Kelly's Brain" in the Brain Theater, had cake, opened presents, and received a "Wacky Hat". What a great time we all had!

The birthday boy is so excited!!

Ole Miss vs. MS State Basketball Game

We went to see Ole Miss play Mississippi State in basketball. We even let our State friend Rachel go with us!! It was the most I have ever seen Cooper "into" a game. It was a VERY exciting game with back and forth leaders, and we had a great time (even though Ole Miss lost 80 - 75)!

During a time-out, they brought out Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt and others from the coaching staff. (at the far end of the court) They showed Dexter McCluster making his 80+ yard touchdown on the screen, and the place went wild!! Ole Miss Rebels - 2010 Cotton Bowl Champs! (too bad Dexter McCluster wasn't there in person!!)

Lovin' some Rebel Sports!

Snow Day ~ January 2010

Cooper's version of a snowmobile....his "Gator-mobile"!

Our snowman....complete with hollybush berry buttons, dogfood eyes, tree limb arms and mouth, and Woody's cowboy hat!

First time ever to make snowcream!

Tooth Fairy

Yes, the tooth fairy did come last night...before the snow, I guess. She left $5 under Cooper's pillow!! I guess the rate for a lost tooth has gone up because when I was little and lost a tooth, I only got a 50-cent piece!
He said that he saw her "light" when she put it under his pillow (he thinks the Tooth Fairy is "Tinkerbell" so he saw her light...).

Talking to Granny on the phone telling her about the Tooth Fairy and the snow!

1st Lost Tooth

Today is a big day in history....Cooper pulled his very 1st tooth!! It's been loose for about a month, and this morning, he just reached in his mouth and pulled it out (it was barely hanging on...we are thankful he didn't swallow it in his sleep!).

Tonight we'll see how generous the Tooth Fairy is going to be!!

He's posing and holding the prize-tooth in a zip-loc! He wanted to take it to school to show everybody, but I managed to talk him out of that.....we didn't want him to lose it!
A close up of the snaggletooth...
